Conveniently, located on the Byram River on N. Main st. in Port Chester NY, it is an easy commute from Greenwich CT and neighboring Westchester towns.
Whose place is this ?
The owner - operator is Edwin Montoya, he runs the restaurant with his brother-in-law and chef Edi Rivera. Capers is their second venue in Westchester. It was January of 2017 when Edwin first considered opening a second restaurant after he had grown weary of having to turn away diners at tiny Appetit Bistro, the 30-seat Port Chester French eatery.
The décor by Christopher Cintron Designs of Stamford is clean and simple, with lots of browns, tans and whites, plus steel piping along the edges of the ceiling. The building had been a gas station in a previous incarnation, so Cintron, not wanting to fight the building’s original identity, worked to keep an industrial feel.
Why the name?
Edi suggested the name. “We wanted something catchy and short and started researching and found capers was one of the most used ingredients in Mediterranean cuisine”. It’s also easy to remember.

Yes, we have a weekly brunch special. Every Sunday - unlimited brunch cocktails for $22.
Can I bring my own wine?
Sure, $30 corkage fee applies. Maximum of two bottles.
